Research

This undergrad, three person group project was focused on making farmers’ markets more profitable and manageable for vendors. We focused on five key areas; storage, transportation, refrigeration of products, set-up and overall aesthetics.

Ideation

After visiting several farmers’ markets and conducting expert interviews with industry professionals we began to develop concepts that targeted our five initial focus areas.

Prototyping

Our team built a full scale working prototype of our initial design that consisted of modular components that could be configured into numerous arrangements. The full scale prototype was set up at a local farmers market to test vendor and consumer reactions.

Evaluative Research

With a short survey and a day of talking to farmer market enthusiast, our team received feedback on our design from a variety of perspectives.

Final Design

The final concept was slightly simplified to reflect the feedback gain from our initial prototype.
