Digis is a future concept for a design studio computer lab. Our team focused on mobility, collaboration and networking, three key areas found in our research among designers. Our research consisted of 25 semi-structured interviews with architects, interior designers, graphic designers and industrials designers and observation of their work spaces to capture the studio environment.

Our team went through an iterative process of sketching, talking to various designers about our concepts and then refining our ideas based on their feedback. After several rounds of this process we finalized our concept; a studio-kit that would house the tools a designer needs, while also connecting them to a digital network.

Rough prototypes were created to test sizes, functions and usability.

Final Design

A portable computer was developed that is flexible in use and accommodates the various needs of designers. The design allows for easy transportation, a variety of work configurations and a network to stay connected.
